New Years Eve – 2011

2011 was a wild and crazy year. From Oscar nominations to international tour, I have much to be grateful for. Not to mention the departure of Bin Laden and Ghaddafi, the end of war in Iraq and the fact that my younger friends with pre-existing conditions now can’t be turned down for medical insurance. That skinny guy in the White House still ain’t perfect, but he’s way ahead of the rest of these clowns, and plenty good enough for this old hillbilly. There’s a lot of work left to do for all of us, and we’d best quit bitchin’ and get to it. We have a world to save.
Someone, perhaps Shelley Barnfather, posted a note that said, in part, “Do not lose heart. We were born for these times.” That pretty well sums it up for me. Don’t you feel that too? Bring on this new year, and may it be a year of bright blessings for all. Except maybe Newt.

What a wonderful quote about us being born for these times. It’s a great thing to give thought to. It reminds me that perhaps there’s nothing to fear or complain about after all, but rather a reason to look deeper and find out why I chose to have a life experience in this time and place…

Yes. I’ve spent most of my life trying to digest what I learned from the old folks, and now I’m one of them. Sobering thought. I hope I’m up to the responsibility.

  2. I’m with you, Marideth; Have a great 2012!! 😉

Same to you, Dr. Bill I have high hopes for the coming year, if we can just get past these damned debates. ;->

Admire your point of view about 2011 and for 2012. Iam not american I live in Sweden but is a great admirer of that is Real America, its people!

Thanks. We’re doing our best, such as it is. Sweden has much going for it. Your people, compared to mine, seem remarkably sane and level-headed.

I agree with you about the president, he had a big mess left for him that can’t be cleaned up in just 4 years…disagree about Newt…he needs all the brightness and blessings he can get and maybe he’ll see the light!!! Oh, well, on second thought that may be too much to hope for…..
    Happy New Year!
