As an ex-pat living in the UK, I started following the results at 23:00 on the BBC and SKY News. It was scary at first, but as the night wore on, I started to breathe again. It was well after 06:00 here in the UK when Obama made his wonderful speech. It was brilliant. The downside is, it’s now 09:35 and I’m still too wired by it al to go to bed.
Yeah — I had kind of the same reaction. Still buzzing, not quite believing, but so, so proud of my countrymen and women.

As I was driving my staunch Republican friend to art class today, she spent the entire time saying that she was “in mourning” and “grieving for the U.S. for the next 4 years.” I didn’t even try to wipe the smile off my face.
