Well, I’m not speechless. I am: delighted, thrilled, very happy for all of you, excited, did I say delighted? Well done, all of you, well done.

It has been nominated for BEST PICTURE! This is so amazing and unexpected.

    • Well, that is because it IS the best picture! And I’m not saying that just to make ya feel good….it was so consistently wonderful, and real, and I’ve seen the competition. Winter’s Bone was an experience that stays with the viewer for a long time.

  5. Carolyn Campbell says:

Congratulations, I am so, so happy for you and everyone involved in this film! Well deserved praise and recognition for the actors, writers and your hard work to bring a true, unflinching and poignant picture of the Ozarks to the screen. Best of all, more people will see this amazing film and hear your beautiful music. And, hopefully, it will mean more film makers will consider this type of project – an honest story with a local, authentic, un-Hollywood approach.

WOW! Whoo-hoo! Whoa … who? How? Whew. Whooooeeeeee! Did I say WOW!??

    Marideth,
There just aren’t words to express how excited we are for you and the WB crew. I have a childhood friend in NY who has written and produced her works and I know how difficult it is to get recognition for independent films. I’m looking forward to the Oscars-so is Wayne and he doesn’t watch “those things”. The nominations are all noteworthy but Best Picture- Yeehaw! Are you planning to make the trip down the red carpet? I’ve already asked Lois about a watch party so keep me posted.
Again, congratulations- you done us proud- and we look forward to getting the soundtrack and your book.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I hear Heroes is planning a watch party. I’ll post something when I hear more.
