Remember those less than clever exit lines like “Off like a herd of turtles!” Or “like a dirty shirt”, or endless others. Well, that’s me, if I can manage to get some sleep between now and driving time tomorrow.

I’m headed up to Warrensburg for the Show Me Justice film festival, where Winter’s Bone is one of 21 films being shown on the theme of developing or encouraging a social conscience. Good Idea. Good films, I’d bet. I’ll let you know.

Debra Granik and Jonathan Scheuer, along with their daughter, Hanna, and other Winter’s Bone folks, are in France at another film festival, but will be back next week, as will I.

Another reminder, the soundtrack is available digitally from Amazon and iTunes if you don’t want to wait for the CD. It’s official release is Oct. 26, or I’ll have it a few weeks earlier.
