Hello Marideth from Bedford, Quebec, Canada. We just saw Winter’s bone yesterday evening. When my wife and I saw you singing we just felt in love with you and your songs. We bought the cd today on ITunes. You are now with us in the living room, while we are having diner and wine.
We will introduce your music to all are friends. Real good music. Thank you.
Best regards, good continuation and happy new year.

  3. Hello Marideth,

I just finished watching “Winter’s Bone” and immediately started trying to find the soundtrack of the movie as your music opened doors to memories that have been locked away for far too long – memories of the hills of Missouri and Arkansas where I spent most of my younger days.

I am especially moved by your rendition of “Fair and Tender Ladies” and would not hesitate to say that you grant to this song such a haunting reality that all other renditions to date pale in their attempt to accomplish.

I also especially enjoy your rendering of the Christian songs on the soundtrack. Being a Southern Baptist minister who has vivid, visual memories of the old “Hill Country” church houses of my youth as well as auditory memories of the genre that you are so adept in rendering, I am transported back to those wonderful and memorable days.

I find your renditions of the bitter-sweet, memory-dredging genre of “the music of the hills” to rank up there with those artists who have reached the heights of recognition in this genre. I am praying that “Winter’s Bone” will project your sound into the realm that will attract the attention of the masses, as popular opinion is always more accurate than the professional opinions of Music City in my humble opinion.

Thank you, Marideth, for the key, that your particular renditions of these songs have provided, to open the long-locked door to the memories that release vivid and poignant memories of time long passed and distant.

    Blessiongs,

    Pastor Zach

WOW!!! I saw Winter’s Bone tonite & afterwords went right to the computer to find out about Marideth Sisco & the Blackberry Winter Band because the music was the best thing about the movie!

What a terrific sound & Marideth has the voice of an Angel — I haven’t heard anything I’ve liked as much for a very long time. I will definitely be ordering the soundtrack album —- as I’m sure many others will do as well!!!!

    THANK YOU!

  5. Hi,
Just saw the Winters Bone movie.. It was a great film! But like many who posted, I came online today to find out more about Mrs. Sisco. That party scene was great! I have NEVER heard that type of music and it really stuck on me as something I want to learn more about. I live in Hialeah, Fl.. (95% Hispanic population) Here, Spanish is spoken more than the English language! So, needless to say, Bluegrass is not heard down here in South Florida. It’s a refreshing change! Thank you for introducing me to such an emotion filled music..

This comes from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. I like “real” music by real people. We watched Winter’s Bone this evening and fould it to be a VERY good one. And, Like Brother Where Art Thou, the music was special. Never heard of Marideth, but we have now! Got the album off iTunes and now have an important addition to my collection!
