Just curious: I prefer your band’s rendering of Farther Along (track 8?) than the version in which you sing with a piano (track 15?). At least that’s how it is on the Amazon site; both versions on one CD. True also with your version?

I loved the movie and was drawn to the music, esp the pieces in which you perform. Thank you.

Thank you right back, Gloria. The piano version was my response when they first asked for a hymn. I was trying for the “old church house, out of tune piano sound” and Craig Klein was happy to provide it with his Roland electric keyboard. Then the director asked if I could do a “Softer” version. So I called in Dennis Crider, my long-time guitarist friend, who led the other musicians in the version on Track 8. That’s the version that leads the credits out at the end of the movie.

When I heard you sing the Missouri Waltz, I held my breath. This is the song that the women in my family have been rocking their babies to for generations. For that reason, I thought it was our song, I never knew it had a name. Silly me! Thank you for the education. My grandparents came from Pea Ridge, Arkansas – so much of the music on the sound track from Winter’s Bone reminds me of them. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. I’ll be ordering you CD for my mother – she will love it.

Our families are close neighbors. I have some very close kin in Washburn, Mo., and I was born a little farther north on Hwy. 37, in Butterfield. Thanks for your kind words, and give your mama my best.

I saw Winter’s Bone and loved all the music, especially your pieces. I most certainly will be buying the CD. Please, any plans to release more CD’s of your music and also, do you do any live performing?

Thanks again for some really great music!

    Dearest Marideth Sisco,

I’ve just watched Winter’s Bone with my family and loved your songs.
Sadly, I found no way to download your beautiful songs through Amazon, because we live in São Paulo, Brazil. We could import, but the taxes are very high.
I didn’t find the CD in São Paulo’s music stores, unfortunately.
Anyway, do you think I could buy the CD directly from you?
    Yours faithfully,

    Nilza Russo

Greetings from South Africa. Watched Winter’s Bone yesterday. A good movie for sure. Your performance elevated it to an even higher level though. Thank you for your mesmerizing music – it is a very special gift that you have.
    Kind regards, Huntly

Marideth – I am a convert! My wife and I watched Winters Bone on Saturday and were totally blown away by your music, and your fabulous musicians. We think your singing is on a par with Norma waterson (especially the lower registers). Do you have any plans to visit the UK – we would love to see you perform live.
Also we can get the soundtrack through Amazon, but I cant seem to find the Blackberry Band CD available here.
Look forward to hearing more from you – Richard (Brighton, England)
